Sex, Psychedelics & the Path to Healing
Reclaiming Pleasure, Healing Through Connection, and Exploring the Sacred Intersection of Sex & Psychedelics
Valentine’s Day is over, but let’s be real-intimacy, connection, and self-discovery don’t run on a holiday schedule. Maybe you spent it with someone you love. Maybe you spent it reflecting on what love, desire, and connection actually mean to you. Either way, the conversation continues.
On Saturday, February 22nd, we’re gathering at Akoma Entheogenic Church for something deeper. A real, honest conversation about sex, psychedelics, and the ways these two forces can open doors to healing, pleasure, and connection-not just with others, but with ourselves.
Leticia Brown is a licensed marriage and family therapist and sex therapist. She works with QTPOC individuals, couples & polycules and specializes in trauma work and a range of sexuality-related issues. this conversation will be moderated by Monica Cadena, an Afro-Chicana Oakland-based journalist, and community organizer. If you’ve been looking for a space to ask real questions, hear real experiences, and explore the intersections of intimacy, psychedelics, and self-discovery-this is it.
Why This Matters
Psychedelics and sexuality have been intertwined for centuries-used in sacred traditions, in rituals of transformation, and in personal journeys of healing. But in today’s world, we don’t always get the space to talk about it freely.
Here’s the truth:
💜 Psychedelics can help us let go of shame and reclaim pleasure.
💜 They can help us reconnect with our bodies and deepen intimacy.
💜 They can open pathways to healing trauma and rewriting old stories about love, desire, and self-worth.
But how do we navigate that safely? Intentionally? And in a way that truly honors our individual and collective healing? That’s what we’re here to explore.
