This is the best thing I’ve read about the psychedelic movement in a long time. I mean really, all these white and power and wealthy psychedelic pharma freaks are are indulging in the very behavior they claim to be enlightened by in terms of healing and deep cultured love for one another as humans… these people don’t give a damn about other folks, they only care about their money. Let’s be real, you think that people on Medicaid or uninsured folks in the US will have access to any of this medicine? Absolutely not! They are going for private insurance and Medicare dollars. But they claim they are helping save the world, and their shit stinks the worst.

I too was taken aback by the extremely high cost to attend this event, it's one reason I am not there. But on the other hand, there is a certain logic to their strategy. If they priced it too low, lots of people would not be able to attend because it would be sold out, or the same number of people would attend (because its sold out) so yea if its a fundraiser they probably priced it right if they got the numbers they expected. By doing the scholarship thing, they get to give free or discounted tickets to people that they deem "worthy" ;) And for everyone else, the videos of the event will probably eventually be on YouTube so the only thing you are missing out on really is the community and vendor interactions and the excitement of being there live. I don't see this event as all that different from the Horizon's Perspectives on Psychedelics conference that MAPS does in New York every year, which is the other reason I didn't go to Denver even though I kind of wanted to be there. I feel like after a while these conferences are pretty much just regurgitated versions of the same thing over and over, if you want to learn you can do it for free on YouTube (search on the names of the lecturers and you will pretty much find all of their content for free). If you want community interaction you can join your nearest psychedelic society or free psychedelic meetup group (try meetup.com) or even create your own group if none exist.
